Description
- Yellow Charm Bidens (Bidens ferulifolia) is a popular mounded annual known for its vibrant, golden-yellow, star-shaped flowers and fine, fern-like foliage. While it is widely available as rooted cuttings for professional and home gardening, seeds for the specific ‘Yellow Charm’ cultivar are rare, as many modern Bidens cultivars are primarily propagated through cuttings to ensure they maintain their compact, mounded habit
- Light & Soil: These plants thrive in full sun (at least 6 hours daily) and prefer fertile, well-drained soil.
- Sowing: For the best start, sow seeds indoors 6–8 weeks before the last frost. Press them lightly into moist compost and cover with a very thin layer (about 1/8 inch), as light can help germination.
- Germination: Expect seedlings to emerge in 7–14 days when kept at temperatures between 18–22°C (65–72°F).
- Maintenance: To keep a compact and well-branched shape, pinch out the growing tips when the plants are about 5 cm tall. They are drought-tolerant once established but bloom best with regular watering.
- Temperature – The optimum day temperature for growing 20-25°C
