Growtime Alfa Alfa Microgreen Seeds

Alfalfa microgreens are fast-growing, nutrient-rich greens packed with vitamins A, C, K, calcium, and iron. With a mild, slightly nutty flavor and vibrant green color, they grow well indoors year-round in 12–24°C temperatures. Germinating in 2–5 days and ready to harvest in 7–12 days, they thrive in moist soil with indirect sunlight. Ideal for salads and sandwiches, harvest when 2.5–5 cm tall, ensuring the soil is dry a few hours before cutting for the best taste and freshness.

Description

  • Alfalfa microgreens are young seedlings of the alfalfa plant (Medicago sativa) harvested at an early stage of growth. Alfalfa microgreens are incredibly nutrient-dense. They are rich in essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and K, as well as calcium, iron, and folate. Alfalfa microgreens are known for their rapid growth, often ready to harvest in about 7 to 10 days after planting. These microgreens have a mild, slightly nutty flavor, making them a versatile addition to a variety of dishes.
  • Where to grow: Balcony or Kitchen Sowing season: Throughout the year Germination temperature: 12-24°C Germination Time: 2 to 05 days Harvesting Time: 07-12 days Microgreen Color: vibrant green color Flavor: mild, slightly nutty flavor
  • Soil – Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil or growing medium. This helps to anchor the seeds and provides some darkness for germination.
  • Sunlight – Place the container in an area with indirect sunlight or under grow lights. Alfalfa microgreens don’t require direct sun, but they need moderate to bright light for healthy growth.
  • Water – Water the growing medium thoroughly, making sure it’s evenly moist but not waterlogged. You can use a spray bottle to avoid disturbing the seeds.
  • Alfalfa microgreens are typically ready for harvest within 7 to 12 days after planting or once they reach a height of about 2.5 to 5 centimeters. Use scissors to cut them just above the soil level.
  • Make sure to not harvest your crop immediately after watering the plant. Keep the medium dry 4-5 hours before the harvest. Rinse the cut shoots with warm water and consume immediately for maximum benefits
