- Japanese Minowase is a type of daikon radish known for its long, cylindrical shape and mild flavor. As a winter-type radish, it can be planted in late summer or early fall for a winter harvest. Seed suppliers often refer to the cultivar as “Minowase Daikon” or “Japanese Minowase Winter Radish,”
