Description

• Oregano plants have a slightly bitter, pungent, and spicy flavor which gives the perfect flavor to all the veggies. Leaves are dark green and oval-shaped with a strong aromatic taste. The oregano flowers are also edible with excellent flavor and are best for attracting pollinators. Oregano is a low-maintenance herb plant that can be easily grown by both beginners and expert gardeners.

• Soil – Use well-drained, dry, and light soil for planting oregano, it can grow very well in soil that does not contain nutrients.
• Water – Oregano doesn’t need a lot of water because it is drought tolerant, you should give 2.5 cm of water per week and water early in the day and don’t let the leaves get wet.
• Sunlight – Oregano plants require at least 6 hours of direct sunlight each day. And if you are growing oregano indoors then the plant should get 4-6 hours of light.
• Temperature – The ideal temperature for growing oregano is 15–30°C. The oregano plant can tolerate cold and hot temperatures and does not like high humidity.
• Common pests and diseases – Some pests such as aphids, and spider mites attack plants, and disease powdery mildew infects the plants. To get rid of the problem it would be right to spray neem oil on the oregano plants.
